Angénieux announces that American cinematographer Edward Lachman ASC will receive the prestigious Pierre Angénieux ExcelLens in Cinematography, at the 71st Cannes International Film Festival.
Every year, as an official partner of the Festival, Angénieux organizes the Pierre Angénieux ExcelLens in Cinematography ceremony which turns the spotlight on a cinematographer whose work has marked the history of word cinema. Since its inception in 2013, tribune has been paid to Philippe Rousselot (AFC, ASC), Vilmos Zsigmond (HSC, ASC), Roger A. Deakins (BSC, ASC), Peter Suschitzky (ASC) and Christopher Doyle (HKSC).
With a career spanning 45 years and comprising over 75 films and documentaries, Edward Lachman has worked with the greatest film directors.
New this year, Angénieux will, during this exceptional ceremony, also distinguish Chinese young cinematographer Cecile Zhang, who graduated with honors from the Beijing Film Academy, by giving her the opportunity of using an Angénieux zoom lens on her next project.
