On Wednesday, 29th November the British Independent Film Awards ( BIFAs ) has celebrated its ninth edition at Hammersmith Palais , London.

PANTHER'S BUDDY DOLLY


Panther just introduced a new basic dolly which displays the base of the sophisticated EvoPlus .

EC TO RECOMMEND SCRAPPING COPYRIGHT LEVIES

BRUSSELS - Ken Loach, Mike Leigh, Lars von Trier, Pedro Almodovar and other film directors on Monday appealed to the European Commission to maintain the copyright levy imposed on consumer electronics.

In an open letter, the directors urged the European Union's executive authority not to abolish the levy, imposed since the 1960s, which aims to compensate artists for the private copying of audio and audiovisual works. more ...

New Board at the Norwegian Society

On march 20th 2006 DOP Jørn G. Broll was elected new president of the Norwegian Society of Filmphotographers.

For the last 2 years Jørn has become more active in the society and has designed FNFs webpage and also as the moderator of the page.  Jørn will serve as president for 2 years. Kjell Vassdal, former president, was elected vice president along with John C. Rosenlund.

The Hungarian cinematographer György Illés HSC has died last 12 of June with the age of 92. The well renowned cinematographer has shot around 70 films since 1949.

Report from the Cinematographers days 2006 in Bangkok

The Film festival itself was a great mix of national and international movies. Too many to see all (but I tried hard).
Besides the Film festival there was a 'Film market' with Asian companies presenting themselves and some seminars in different places, usually outside the festival area. Names like Terry Gilliam, Catherine Deneuve, Oliver Stone and Roger Coreman were there to attract more public.
