AFC at Cannes film Festival

This Pavilion is dedicated to the cinematic image from both a technical and an artistic viewpoint. We hope the space will serve as a welcoming venue for all directors of photography attending the Cannes Film Festival, while also providing an artistic and cultural mix of Asian, South American, North American, African, Middle Eastern and European cinema. Once again the AFC will be present at the Cannes Film Festival for the entire duration, from May 14th until May 25th, 2008 . This year the AFC directors of photography will occupy a new space specifically dedicated to the cinematic image: the AFC Image Pavilion. The Pavilion will be located in the International Village La Pantiero, near the Old Port , and will welcome directors of photography from all nations. The Pavilion will host cinematographers of films in competition, as well as other foreign and French guests, for informed discussions on lighting and the cinematic image. The space includes a covered area of 25 square meters, where an exhibit of photographs will be on display, as well as a same-sized outdoor patio where visitors can mingle. A variety of events and meetings will be held around the films in competition.
