MPTE DC28 ADDITIONAL FRAME RATE AD HOC GROUP CREATED

The work of the Additional Frame-Rate (AFR) Group within SMPTE continues under the chairmanship of Kommer Kleijn SBC. The AFR study group completed its report which is due to be published in the next SMPTE journal. As a result an Ad Hoc Group could be created within DC28 under 28.10 (mastering). The first meeting of the SMPTE DC 28.10 AFR Ad Hoc group was held in London and Hollywood on the 6th December. The 1st draft of the AFR Standards document was discussed and some points were raised. Formal comments on the published draft were discussed and responses were generated. Positive progress was made.

On 30 januari 2008 Kommer Kleijn gave a short presentation about the Frame Rate work during the session "Generating and delivering a digital copy" at the IDIFF conference in Paris ( www.idiff.org )

The next meeting of the AFR Ad Hoc group will be held in London and Hollywood on febr 28 @ 17.00 CET (16h00 GMT, 08h00 PST) Participation by phone is also possible.
