12 th Pusan International Film Festival |
2007 winners Pusan International Film Festival, one of the top Asian festivals, has recently celebrated its 12 th edition in South Korea. The only competitive section of Pusan's has presented, this year, eleven films from around the world premiering internationally. The three $30,000 prizes in the this festival's New Currents section went to: "Life Track" (China-Korea) by Jin Guang Hao Cinematographer: ZHU Jin Ze (Beta, Colour) "Flower in the Pocket" (Malaysia) by Seng Tat Liew Cinematographer: LEONG Albert Hue See (Digi Beta, Colour)
"Wonderful Town" (Thailand) by Aditya Assarat Cinematographer: Umpornpol YUGALA (35mm, colour)
"Flower" also picked up the audience award, while the FIPRESCI award went to "The Red Awn," by China's Cai Shangjun.
The Asian Film Market announced the winners of this year's Pusan Promotion Plan premarket: The top prize of $20,000 went to "11 Flowers," by Wang Xiaoshuai. The Kodak Award of $20,000 worth of film negatives went to Park Ki-bok for "Farewell." The $10,000 Cineclick Asia Award was won by Sion Sono for "Room of Dreams" (Japan).
