CAMERIMAGE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD |
This year Plus Camerimage Lifetime Achievement Award will be granted to Stephen Goldblatt , ASC, BSC (The Hunger, Prince of Tides, Batman Forever, The Cotton Club, Rent, Closer). It will be our great pleasure and a tremendous honour to host this great cinematographer in Lódz. We would like to use this opportunity to present some of his great movies and a selection of his photographs. 'GOLDBLATT' - exhibition of photography will become one of the accompanying events of the 15th anniversary edition of PLUS CAMERIMAGE Festival. The works present a wide range of the photographic output created in the period from the 60s till recent days. By their diversity and visual impact they comprise a remarkable review of photography by this renowned cinematographer.
The photographs are divided into three sections. The first one includes the pictures taken by Goldblatt during his voyage to Burma which depict the beautiful landscapes of this exotic country and the life of its people. The other section presents his cinematographic work. Photos from such movies as Angels in America, Closer, Rent or Charlie Wilson's War show Goldblatt's masterly use of light so appreciated all over the world. The last part comprises of the various photographs taken by the artist including pictures of The Beatles, The Who, pictures from his other journeys and many other. 'GOLDBLATT' - the exhibition of 63 photos will be displayed
in the Festival Centre in the Grand Theatre during the Festival
and will add splendor to the anniversary edition of the International
Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography PLUS CAMERIMAGE.
