IMAGO Board visits AFC, August 6th – 7th. |
The IMAGO Board: President Andreas Fischer-Hansen, DFF, Vice-president Tony Costa , AIP, & General Secretary Paul-René Roestad, FNF, had their yearly board meeting in Paris , hosted by AFC in rue Francœur. Since the Board is spread all over Europe we communicate normally by e-mail, Skype, SMS and phone, there are many tools available for communication now a days, fast and cheap. But, - we have a tradition to meet face-à-face once a year, so important to discuss issues in depth, structuring our work. Since our mandate soon will terminate, others will take over February 2008, key matters discussed were what to prioritize during our last half year in office, to plan for a smooth take over. Andreas accounted for the status of the Model Contract Publication , which has been under way for some time, with Prof. Cristina Busch as primus motor, with contributions by Nigel Walters, BSC, Kurt Brazda, AAC and the President. Following some minor adjustments the publication will go into print for IMAGO members. Paul René evaluated the work of the IMAGO Working Committees, which seemed to be working well, some more active than others, but by and large response is fine. Paul René had suggestions for altering the election procedure, which could be implemented within the Statutes / Interior Rules. For discussion at IAGA 2008. Tony accounted for the website and relations with Camerimage, at which we hope IMAGO to be strongly represented in December 2007. Many other issues were discussed, dealing with administrative problems but also visions for the future. The meeting was exceptionally fruitful. AFC kindly supported our meeting, so that we had ideal conditions sitting in the very cosy AFC office in rue Francœur . Jean-Nöel Ferragut was present all the time, assisting us in good spirits; we only hope we didn't jeopardize his own work schedule too much! We also met with Jean-Jacques Bouhon, Etienne Fauduet and Robert Alazraki. AFC hosted a dinner at the marvellous Brasserie La Coupole in Montpanasse. The evening is unforgettable – we have deep respect for AFC, - and are exceedingly appreciative of the hospitality shown us, yet again. Andreas, Paul René & Tony.
