IBC 2007 approaching

Amsterdam - September, 6-11

The world's largest technological event in Europe (along with NAB in the USA) is about to take place in Amsterdam (The Netherlands). New products will be presented, and launched, during the latest edition of IBC make it a significant event to catch sight of the newest trends.

P+S Technik will be presenting its first set of 35mm prime lenses equipped with a Nikon mount. These high quality lenses are based on Zeiss SLR lenses and perfectly work with the P+S Technik Image Converters as well as with all other P+S Technik products equipped with the Interchangeable Mount System. The 35Digital lens set includes a 25mm/T2.8, a 35mm/T2.0 and a 50mm and an 85mm lens, both T1.4.

P+S Technik also offers an aluminum flight case with six lens compartments as a useful accessory for the lens set. P+S Technik will offer to customers buying a MINI35 or PRO35 a cost effective complete package including the lens set, a follow focus and a matte box.

Also, the new MINI35 Compact first presented at the NAB 2007 together with Canon will be showing off for you. This compact designed version of the MINI35 is very light sensitive and is available for Canon XL H1 and JVC GY-HD201/251 camcorders with a detachable lens. The basic difference between the Mini35 '400' version and the Compact version is, that the '400' version is a modular product for quick and easy change between different camcorder models, where as the MINI35 Compact is design with a different optical path and can only be connected to camcorders with a detachable lens. The advantage is the light sensitivity of this version. The MINI35 '400' and new Connecting Kits are further on offered. Both converters are designed and manufactured with our high quality expectations towards our products.

Results on the SI-2K Digital Cinema Camera can already be thanks to the Kosovo-based production company Concordia shot in early 2007 that after having done a test with a prototype of the SI-2K Digital Cinema Camera, printed it to 35mm film. The producers were convinced by the quality of the screen test footage and decided to shoot the whole feature film project with the prototype. It was shot in May and June 2007 in Albania. Some clips from the "just finished" production were presented at the 'digitale cinematographie' event on June 28th in Munich.

A tapeless short film production "Birnbaum" shot with the MINI35 is also ready for your criticism. At fmx/07, Stuttgart, director Ronald Scharf has presented a new developed workflow that combines the major benefits of digital cinematography and analogue film. The 35mm exhibition copies of the short film BIRNBAUM (Pear Tree) were produced without use of any video tape or intermediate film material. The original DVCPRO HD video data, stored on P2 memory cards and hard disks, were directly transferred by a Cinevator Digital Film Printer to positive 35mm film. DoP Vadim Belokovsky used P+S Technik Mini35, Zeiss high speed lenses and macro lenses in order to achieve an analogue film look.

P+S Technik will be at the IBC 2007 at booth 11.630.
