The IBC2007 conference programme is now almost complete - you can see it at www.ibc.org - and it is more far-reaching than ever before. This year's programme is a broad sweep of both the familiar and the new, but always highly relevant to today's electronic media industry.

Michael Crimp is this years' CEO. On its' 40 th edition, IBC will be held in Amsterdam. Conference: 6-10 September and Exhibition: 7-11 September.

On Thursday the theme is Broadcasting by broadband. Today's consumers demand the content they want, at the quality they want it, where they want it, when they want it. Broadband data rather than broadcast video seems to be the solution. IBC2007 will provide several case studies.

Friday 's Shrinking world, growing markets, global business takes as its starting point IBC's 40th anniversary, using it as a jumping off point for an investigation of multiple delivery platforms, cross-border services and new business applications.

On Sunday our attention turns to Content production: creation - management - delivery. Despite the growing interest in user-generated content and citizen journalism, there is still common agreement that good content is critical. This theme day looks at creating good pictures, good sound and good workflows.

For a number of years Monday at IBC has been digital cinema day. This year the theme is D-cinema - the big screen is going digital. With the usual mixture of case studies, panel discussions, workshops and presentations the day will look at how digital technology, and particularly the renewed interest in 3D, can keep the cinema experience as something special.

IBC will also have conferences and free sessions and exhibitors will be available to discuss with you the future. Podcasts are available at iTunes and you also can watch the IBC programming at www.telecomtv.com and registration is free.

Registration is open at www.ibc.org. If you register before 20 August not only will you receive valuable discounts - including free exhibition entry - you also get an even more significant bonus: time.
