Best Cinematography Nominees

Between April, 18 and April, 25, Lola Festival takes place in Berlin , presenting the best 2006 German productions. This festival has its height with the German Film Awards 2007 Deutschen Filmpreises 2007 ceremony, held on May 4 th . This event is a joint collaboration between the German Film Academy ( Deutschen Filmakademie ) and the Representative of the Federal Government for Culture and Media ( Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien ).

In what is known to be the main national film award in Germany , this year's nominees for BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY are:

FRANK GRIEBE

Das Parfum (2005) by Tom Tykwer

Film also nominated for: Directing, Editing, Set, Costume, Soundtrack, Sound

GRIEBE (1965, Germany ) starts his career in 1990 doing a short directed by Tom Tykwer . From then on they have worked together many times doing 3 shorts ( Because , Epilog , True ) and several feature films ( Winterschläfer /Winter Sleepers ; Lola rennt /Run Lola Run ; Der Krieger und die Kaiserin /The Princess and the Warrior ; Heaven ; Perfume/ Das Parfüm ). Recently he has done Deutschland. Ein Sommermärchen / Germany : A Summer's Fairytale (2006) directed Sönke Wortmann . GRIEBE has a 7 wins and 8 nominations total - all of them resulting of Tykwer film collaboration. He was awarded with Marburg Camera Award (2002).

 

JUDITH KAUFMANN, BVK

Vier Minuten by Chris Kraus

Film also nominated for: Leading Actress, Directing, Editing, Screenplay

KAUFMANN (1962, Germany ) starts her career as DoP career in 1984. She has collaborated in Chris Kraus's first directing experience Scherbentanz / Shattered Glass (2002). The film had several awards and nominations, including a German Camera Award 2003 win for KAUFMANN. A new collaboration took place in Nur für Mozart (2005) and recently in Vier Minuten / Four Minutes (2006). This film title has granted KAUFMANN her first Camerimage "Golden Frog" nomination (2006). In 2006 she was awarded with Marburg Camera Award (2006).

 

BENEDICT NEUENFELS, BVK/AAC

NEUENFELS (1966, Switzerland ) starts his career in 1988. He has a 6 wins & 7 nominations total - both for television and cinema collaborations. His last shoot is Liebesleben / Love Life (2006) directed by Maria Schrader.
