The CINEMATOGRAPHER's European Model Contract

Presented at “Plus CAMERIMAGE 2007”

Since its foundation back 1992 ~ IMAGO envisioned that a European structure would better suit European cinematographers in years to come. This proved to be right. The institutions representing the European Union are in fact conceiving all policies, including those concerning film industry.

Celebrating its 15 th year of existence IMAGO has strengthened the bonds between its several society members. Therefore, we think it's time to create “The European Model Contract” for cinematographers. The aim is, on one hand, to bring closer the different cinematographer's nationalities working in European Union territory, and on the other, to give each cinematographer equal authorship rights and working conditions. (Nov 2007)

Dear Member Societies.

I am pleased to inform you that  THE MODEL CONTRACT is in print, ready for distribution.

The first presentation of "The Model Contract" will be at Plus Camerimage, 2007, - please see attached document. The next presentation will be at Imago Annual General Assembly hosted by NSC in Amsterdam, February 2008.

I would like to express my profound appreciation for this time consuming and important work - first of all to Prof. Cristina Busch,  Nigel Walters BSC, Kurt Brazda AAC, & IMAGO Board. But many have been involved.

It has been a very interesting, educational and inspirational collaboration.

Respectfully,

Andreas Fischer-Hansen

IMAGO President”
