CAMERIMAGE 2006 WINNERS



On the 3rd of December, CAMERIMAGE 2006 winners were announced. Main competition awards, granted by this world acclaimed cinematography festival, were granted to Cinematographers: GUILLERMO NAVARRO, DICK POPE and RICARDO DELLA ROSA.

Golden Frog:

EL LABERINTO DEL FAUNO/ Pan's Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro

Silver Frog:

THE ILLUSIONIST by Neil Burger

Cinematographer: DICK POPE, BSC ( UK )

Bronze Frog:

CASA DE AREIA/ The House Of The Sand by Andrucha Waddington

Cinematographer : RICARDO DELLA ROSA, ABC (Brasil)

Best Duo Director-Cinematographer:

TOM TYKWER and FRANK GRIEBE

GRIEBE starts his career doing two short features with Tykwer : Because (1990) and Epilog (1992). After that they started collaborating in long features: Die Tödliche Maria (1993), Winterschläfer (1997), Lola rennt (1998), Der Krieger und die Kaiserin (2000) and Heaven (2002). By then these titles had already earned several awards and both critic and audience applause. In 2004 they go back to the short format with True (2004). Their most recent collaboration is an adaptation of the world famous romance written by Patrick Süskind : Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006). In 2006 he has also done Der die Tollkirsche ausgräbt (2006) by Franka Potente , Paris , je t'aime (2006) and documentaries Deutschland. Ein Sommermärchen (2006) by Sönke Wortmann and Play Your Own Thing: A Story of Jazz in Europe (2006) by Julian Benedikt .
