New IBC Innovation Awards to Reward Successful Technology

To reflect the dynamic nature of the industry and the rapid advances in technology, IBC is introducing four new awards for the innovative use of technology. Each award will be for a specific project and presented to the end user (most likely a broadcaster, production company or post house etc). The awards will also recognise the contributions of the technology companies involved.

The awards aim to recognise the high level of successful innovation and expertise created through the partnerships between technology suppliers and users. They are open to everyone who is involved in the creation, management or delivery of content.

The deadline date for entries is Friday, 17 March (for projects ‘up and running' by 31st July 2006) and nominations should be made via the IBC website.

An international panel of industry journalists will judge the awards and the winners will be announced during IBC2006 at the IBC awards ceremony on Sunday September 10th.

IBC2006 Call for Contributions

With the help of key professionals from our industry we have identified the following crucial topics (further details can be found on the website), which will provide a focus in the Conference sessions and on the exhibition floor. However, visitors and exhibitors at IBC represent all the diverse areas of our industry and so we continue to encourage contributions from every sector.

With conference attendees including the industries decision makers and innovators, key subjects involving standards, best business practice, new technology, craft skills, regional and consumer issues will be debated. We welcome proposals for technical papers, complete sessions or speaking opportunities.

The IBC Call for Contributions is currently available online and you can register your offer to the IBC2006 Conference.

However the deadline for receipt of all submissions is Friday 3 February 2006 so please don’t delay - visit the IBC website at www.ibc.org and follow the links to the online contribution form.
