CINEC – Munich

The International Trade Fair for Motion Picture Technology, Post Production and Event Engineering will be held in 16th to 18 th of September 2006 in Munich.

This event takes place every 2 years.

Cinec is a specialized trade fair for all film professionals. With its 128 exhibitors, 46 from abroad (in 2004), it has become one of the most significant trade fairs of the film industry.

Exhibits are from the fields of: Camera, Camera support/Grip, Film, Lighting, Optics, Sound, Equipment/Accessories, Services/Organisations/Publishing, Postproduction and Digital Editing.

Top-class and market leading exhibitors have turned cinec into a magnet for visitors from all over the world. In 2004, 3,478 experts from 58 nations, especially from the fast-growing regions of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia, used cinec as a platform for information and contacts, meeting point and excellent market place.

Cinec Award

The highlight of Cinec is the presentation of the Cinec Award for extraordinary and trendsetting technical developments. The categories are: Camera Technology, Optics, Camera Support/Grip, Camera Equipment, Lighting Engineering, Postproduction/Digital Editing.
An eligible “clever idea” might be awarded with a special prize. All exhibitors of Cinec are entitled to take part; an international jury will elect the winners.

cinecForum

A new feature of cinec is the cinecForum on THE FUTURE OF CINEMATOGRAPHY in cooperation with the Munich Academy for Television and Film (HFF) and the professors Axel Block, Franz Kraus and Peter C. Slansky. In 2006, the main focus will be on PROFESSIONAL DIGITAL CINEMATOGRAPHY.

The cinecForum will accompany the trade fair. The following is planned:


1. Opening: THE FUTURE OF CINEMATOGRAPHY

2. Digital Cinematography – creative tools for the DoP

3. The future of jobs – Colorgrading and Visual Effects – HD-shoot and camera setup

4. Practical experience with HD – Results of a cinec-workshop of HFF with screening


Furthermore, there will be product presentations, seminars, workshops and talks on current innovations.

The Bavarian Society for Advancement of Film Technology e.V. (FGF)
Munich is the top media location in Germany, much of the film technology employed worldwide originates from Bavaria. Due to the concentration of suppliers located here, the whole value chain is covered – with all the resulting synergies.

The Bavarian Society for Advancement of Film Technology e.V. (FGF) was founded in 2002 for the advancement and support of this area. Members are well-known companies of the film industry as well as organisations of the sector; the main aim of the society is the support of the film technology trade fair Cinec, the presentation of the Cinec Award for extraordinary and innovative developments and the organisation of the accompanying Cinec Forum. In addition, round-table talks take place on a regular basis, where current and urgent topics of the sector are discussed with leading experts of the film business and background information is provided.
