A documentary about cameramen on the front line of World War II has just been finished. "The Canadian Army Film & Photo Unit " (CFPU) is a documentary by James O’Regan, who happens to be the son of one of the cameraman in the documentary.
The film tells the story of a few men who were trained to be cameramen during that war . The story doesn’t go into details of the war as such. Instead it concentrates on the job of these cameramen.
They were professionals at all times. Even in very dangerous situations they shot with the camera on a tripod when felt necessary to make the best shots.
Thanks to these men, the world could watch newsreels from the front. They were in the middle of the action and preserved a true image of war.
