The Orange BAFTA awards in 2005

The ceremony of the orange BAFTA awards will take place on Saturday, February 12, at the Odeon, Leicester Square-London. It will be hosted by Stephen Fry and broadcasted by BBC 1.

This annual event is organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, non stop since 1947.

The 5 nominations for cinematography this year are:

  • Robert Richardson ASC for "The Aviator".
  • Dion Beebe ACS and Paul Cameron for "Collateral"
  • Roberto Schaefer for "Finding Neverland"
  • Zhao Xiaoding for "House of Flying Daggers"
  • Eric Gautier AFC for "The Motorcycle Diaries"
  • The cinematographers Robert Richardson ASC and the Chinese Zhao Xiaoding are also nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science in the US. The French cinematographer Eric Gautier AFC is nominated by the British Academy and again by the French Academy for a "César".

    For Roberto Schaefer it is his first nomination ever for a BAFTA award.

    For the movie "Collateral" there are shared credits for cinematography. The Australian cinematographer Dion Beeb ACS was nominated for a BAFTA a second time . In 2003 he was already nominated for his work on "Chicago". For Paul Cameron it is the first time to be on the list of nominees for the award.
