KODAK IBERICA launches new 250 D (5205) in Cordoba

Between February 28th and March 2nd, Kodak Iberica gathered more than 100 cinematographers from Spain and Portugal in Cordoba to launch the Vision2 5205 250 daylight stock and to present its software system Kodak Look Manager System KLMS.

During the three days, cinematographers had the possibility to make the most various tests with the new stock comparing it to the previous 250 D. On the third day of the event all tests were screened in the Cordoba’s Filmoteca Theatre.

The new stock joins the Vision2 family considered by cinematographers as having wider exposure latitude which gives more detail in the dark areas. This new stock has in comparison to hte previous ones, more detail in the highlights and more natural colors. The new 250 D 5205 has a slightly finer grain and registers a more natural look on skin tones.

During the second afternoon the digital program, the Kodak Look Manager System, was demonstrated. This new tool allows cinematographers and laboratories to have a closer relation in terms of image look for their projects. The cinematographer can have a wider number of possibilities to experiment looks and moods that he himself is looking for in a particular job. It allows simultaneously a better approach to the director in terms of choosing aspects of color. The KLMS allows to experiment with various looks without the need to shoot film tests.

This is the fourth time that KODAK IBERICA organizes such an event. The third time reuniting cinematographers from Spain and Portugal. This has been a great opportunity for cinematographers from both countries to interchange views. The result has been of great importance for the two associations AEC and AIP in building a closer relationship and a healthy friendship.
