A book about cinema grip equipment and its use has just been published in Paris.
The author, François Reumont is a director of photography, who regularly contributes to the French magazine "Le Technicien du film".
He already wrote a book about all existing cameras and their accessories: "Le Guide Image de la prise de vues cinema" (same editor).
This 300-page book presents an exhaustive inventory of the grips tools for professional cinematography, which are available on the international market.
Ten chapters describe each tool, illustrated with many photographs and tables: fluid heads, gear heads, remote heads, cranes, tracks, dollies, helicopter mounts, etc. none of the tools has been forgotten.
The author gives advice about the use of some of them. As far as I know it is the most complete book ever done on the subject and maybe the only one.
