Rome IMAGO General Assembly (IAGA)
March 26th, 27th and 28th 2010
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Very soon, You will be in Rome. We are very happy and honoured for your visit!!! Someone of You is coming from very far and for this effort we are really deeply grateful.
Here You have a schedule of the three days 26/27/28 of March. As you know being Italians, we like a lot improvisation but this time we have searched seriously to be the most organized we can.
In any case, it is sure that we are making the effort!
The 25th some of you already arrived in Rome de-stressing from the long trip as the Imago Board that will meet at 20:30 in a restaurant for a working-dinner.
The 26th in the morning, leaving the hotel at 8:30, the Imago Board will meet in Cinecittà Studios for a preparatory session of the Assembly work.
The majority of you arriving the same morning will find at the airport a transportation service with clear identification panels
(AIC phone numbers +39 0672900912 mobile +39 3296420537)
Answering in English from these two numbers will be possible only in office hours.
My personal mobile number is +39 335 6113090 no hours restrictions. Everyone will be convoyed in no more that 30 minutes directly to Cinecittà Studios where Mr. Maurizio Sperandini will offer a lunch at 13:30 followed by a visit to the Studios including the Panalight offices.
A technical demonstration will follow and a brief projection organized by Kodak and Fuji in the same Fellini Theatre where we will meet the following day. During the Cinecittà Studios Tour it will come naturally to visit the AIC Headquarters (probably few of you will have already had the occasion to meet there in the previous days) just in the same Gallery where the sponsors of the event will have prepared a “Mini-Micro Salon”. Just a nice way, to say welcome in Italy and Cinecittà!
At 17:00 at the latest we will move to the hotel (it can take little time) for installation and a short relax before to go to the dinner offered by De Luxe Rome President and Managing Director Mrs. Maurizia Graziosi after a brief visit to the Digital section of the lab and a mini-press conference (more a conversation- communication than a real press-conference) concerning the trial that AIC has against the Italian Collecting Society SIAE and that will be celebrated next June. It is obvious that your presence and few words of our President Nigel and our AIC and Imago lawyers will be of extreme importance.
The dinner will take place in a nearby restaurant called “Loanda Flaminia”. Back to the hotel.
Day 27th. Moving from the hotel at 8:00, the Assembly starts at 09:00 in the Fellini Theatre. Stop for a “walking lunch” in the Gallery where the “mini-micro-salon” will continue. At 14:00 restarts the Assembly until I hope no later than 18:30. Bus to Technicolor laboratory (not so far from Cinecittà) for visit, brief projection, “starter drinking”. Bus again heading to the famous Sergio Leone preferred restaurant “Checco il Carrettiere” in Trastevere, the most central place in Rome, for a dinner offered by Technicolor Rome Managing
Director Mr. Antonio D’Arienzo. Back to the hotel.
Day 28th It will be the day of the relaxed visit to one of the most spectacular archeological place in the world. The Forum of the Ancient Rome. If the Gods will be with us with a good sun and good temperature it will be really a very pleasant “promenade”. The “bye bye” lunch will take place in a nearby restaurant.
Few practical considerations: moving in Rome
The location of Cinecittà Studios is at the South periphery of Rome as is the Technicolor. De Luxe Digital section of the lab more at the North East. Of course we did not plan to visit the two labs the same day! This forced us to make a difficult choice: to confine delegates in an anonymous Hotel lost in this periphery (also if the time spent in the hotel will be relatively short) or decide for another Hotel of a superior standing (also if in a frame of modern simplicity) much more close to the center of Rome? We made the second choice. This unfortunately will add time to the bus travels. But this will make much easier for the accompanying persons to visit Rome, also if for a short time. A “navette” of the hotel is at disposition at fixed hours to reach the not so far Center of the City. We have to say also that from Cinecittà Studios the A-Subway line (Direction Battistini) brings You in 20 scarce minutes in Piazza del Popolo (Station Piazzale Flaminio) and backward (Direction Anagnina) to Cinecittà (Station Cinecittà). Especially the Saturday is a very good day to take the subway. No very much people, just enough.
I know, dear President and Friends, that we are in Rome to make a IAGA and not an holiday tour!
Here in the AIC, all the staff is looking forward to see you in Cinecittà!!!
Buon viaggio!
Luciano
