Films on culture in Dehradun, India

An International event to showcase and recognize authentic, artistic, effective and informative short films on culture in Dehradun, India
The Third International Festival of Short Films on Culture (iffc) invites free competition submission for all film makers, amateurs, students and professionals with respective competition sections for them, by March 1st,2010.Anyone with a film with a film under the broad banner of Culture is invited to participate
Subject of film may be Culture of any tribe, group and country…. Culture may sound a small word but it contains centuries in it. It is older than the civilization and sometimes civilization becomes synonym to culture. In that sense the festival covers a vast range of subjects; religion, architecture, art, music, philosophy, astronomy, astrology, spiritualism, mythology, history, public service and so on…. In short we dare to define culture…. However, you are at liberty to define culture, let your film convince the Selection Committee and your film is in.
First edition of International Festival of Short Films on Culture (iffc-2007) was a grand success. The best films from Iran, Russia, Sweden, Germany and India were presented with specially designed gold statuettes selected from 33 countries by a Jury headed by Basu Chatterjee. It was inaugurated by legendary film-personality Shashi Kapoor in August in the presence of film-makers and stars from 13 countries, including Indian film-stars. Chief Guest at the Award ceremony was Khushboo, superstar from South Indian Cinema. Participating countries were Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cuba, Canada, Croatia, Fiji, France, Germany, Israel, India, Iran, Italy, Jeddah, Lithuania, Lebanon, New Zealand, Panama, Pakistan, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, UK, USA, Uzbekistan & Zimbabwe.
In the Second edition of iffc-08, films from following 38 countries vied for awards: Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Herzegovina, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lithuania, Macedonia, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, UK and Uzbekistan. It was inaugurated by film-star and Member of Parliament Hema Malini along with superstar of Hindi Cinema Jeetendra in presence of several luminaries from all over the world. Best films from Canada, India, Singapore, Austria, Iran, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, USA won awards by a Jury headed by Swapan Malik.
