The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki»

The finish film “The happiest day in the life of Olli Maki” shot by Jani Petteri Passi got the main prize Golden Camera 300 at the last Manaki Brothers Film Festival . The black and white film was the one chosen by the jury lead by greek cinematographer hedon Papamichael along with members Claire Pijman, Vladimir Samoilovski, Alin Tasciyan and Gokhan Tiryaki. The jury considered that it was “a genuine and lyrical atmosphere that surrounds the audience and captures the spirit of time and the unique experience of its protagonist.”

jani manakiIt was the first feature film that finish cinematographer Jani Petteri Passi has shot in his career. Before he was more involved with short films and documentary. The film tells a true story of Olli Mäki, the famous Finnish boxer who in 1962 reached the final for World Featherweight title. The film was awarded recently at Cannes with Un Certain Regard Prize
