CineFest: Bristol Festival of Cinematography 2016

Following its successful debut last year, CineFest - the UK’s only Festival of Cinematography - returns to Bristol UK 20-24 September 2016.

Presented by The Centre for Moving Image Research at the University of the West of England (CMIR,UWE), the Festival features live Masterclasses with full crew, technical workshops and presentations, panels and discussions on the state of the art and craft of cinematography today.

Among the confirmed presenters are :

Esteemed Oscar and BAFTA winner Chris Menges, BSC, ASC who will be discussing his long and notable career with Nigel Walters, BSC ( CineFest Patron, IMAGO president 2008-2015, BSC Vice President) and Peter Florence of the UK’s Hay Festival.

Billy Williams OBE, BSC has a long and distinguished career in cinematography. Billy is CineFest’s Patron and since retirement he has travelled, conducting workshops on film. Billy will present a short Masterclass to Festival delegates.

DoP Roberto Schaefer ASC, AIC and Visiting Professor at the University will present a lighting Masterclass, and bring his incisive and expert commentary to the festival panels.

Dave Stump, ASC brings his extensive experience in high definition film and video photography, CGI and visual effects production to the Festival via a Masterclass.
